Q: What are the Helmet Rules?

A:  ASTM Certified Helmets are required in all English Classes, for all Age divisions. (No Hunt Caps)   All riders age 10 or younger, all walk-trot exhibitors, pee-wees and special needs riders are required to wear helmets at all times when mounted regardless of division or saddle type.  “All times when mounted” is defined as: Any time in which a rider is on the back of a horse including show arena, makeup arena, practice arena, stall area, and parking area. This applies to any and all times which the rider is mounted at the  Event upon arrival.)  Riders will not be penalized for wearing helmets in any class!

Q: What are the Walk-Trot Rules & Eligibilty Requirments?

A: Walk Trot Exhibitors are defined as the following:

  1. A beginner rider whom has never shown at the lope/canter at any show regardless of size of show and show classification.  (If special consideration is required due to extenuating circumstances, please discuss with show manager prior to the event.)
  2. A Green horse Age 5 or Younger that has never shown at the lope/canter. Horse’s Age defined as 5 years old as of January 1st of the current year.

 Typical Questions about Walk-Trot:

  • May an experienced rider show a Green horse in the walk-trot?   Yes, only if the Green horse is 5 or younger and has never been shown at the lope/canter by any rider at any show.
  • May a beginner rider show an experienced horse in the walk trot?   Yes, a beginner rider can show an experienced horse of any age.
  • May a beginner rider show a green horse in the walk-trot?  Green + Green = Black & Blue!  We do not recommend this scenario; it’s not a good idea for safety reasons of everyone involved.
  • May an experienced rider show a senior horse in the walk-trot?   Experienced riders may not ride horses age 6 or older in walk-trot classes.
